Today we had fun taking turns, asking and answering questions in a game of Hedbanz! It was tricky to think of new questions all the time to try and guess what the picture on our heads was of, but we kept going and eventually we all guessed correctly!!

We have been very busy practising our cursive handwriting, ensuring that we are using a good pencil grip. For more information for parents about pencil grip and cursive handwriting - check out the Handwriting section of the Parents Corner of this blog! We had a fantastic first day in the Birch Class. We met most of our new classmates (there two more new friends to join us soon!) and the adults we will be working with - Aoife, Jen and Conor. We explored our new classroom and built creative constructions from lego. Then we attended and participated in the celebration to mark the opening of the new permanent P.E.T.N.S. school building! It was lots of fun singing along with our schoolmates. After this, we went on a tour of the whole school building - it's huge! We came up with an exciting list of games that we could play in the full and can't wait for P.E.! We learned all about the school rules and are did such a good job of sitting nicely with folded arms that we just had to take a photo! We also heard all about Class Dojo and are looking forward to earning points and winning fun prizes.
Well done everyone for a fabulous first day in the Birch Class! We love showing everyone our work so watch this space for lots of news, photos and videos of all our fantastic and fun activities!
We place a lot of emphasis on parental involvement in Powerstown E.T.N.S. so if you are interested in helping out in any way then please let us know. I look forward to working with children and families during the year ahead. If you have any questions at any time, please don't hesitate to drop in after school or contact me at [email protected] Aoife |
