We had great fun during P.J. Day - we were so cosy all day! Thanks to everyone for their support - we raised much needed funds for developing our school garden! Today we did an important job around the school - we delivered the Educate Together magazine to all the teachers. We were feeling nervous, excited and worried before we had to speak in front of the classes. Afterwards we felt happy, confident and very proud of ourselves! We did a great job.
Over recent weeks we have been working hard on our personal timelines - we collected research by interviewing our parents; we recorded information; we examined samples of timelines; we shared photos with our classmates and then we put them all together as the story of our lives so far! We think they look great! This month we have been learning about how to be kind and heartful to ourselves and others. We decided to make some heartful clay creations as a celebration of our heartfulness all month. We can't wait to paint them when they dry! Congratulations to this week's student of the week who worked very hard on following classroom rules - sitting quietly, raising his hand to speak!
The newly elected P.E.T.N.S. Student Council are organising their first fundraising event for the 2016/2017 school year – our annual P.J. Day.
All children, parents, staff, family and friends are invited to wear their Pyjamas to school on Friday, 30th September 2016 Event: PJ Day (Wear your pyjamas to school!) Date: 30/9/2016 Cost: €2 Fundraising for: Water harvesting system for school garden - (gravity-fed system) We have been learning all about the areas of taste on the tongue - sweet, sour, bitter, salty. So we decided it was time for an experiment - we made predictions as to what each food would taste like and whether we would like it or not. Then we tasted the food samples and recorded our results. We are super scientists! More fun with the Hazel Class and Larry during G.A.A. Larry runs G.A.A. training session every Saturday morning in Tyrresltown and would be delighted to have more members join the team! |
