Wow - look at the diligent work in the Birch Class! Everyone was working so hard writing about their homes today - well done!
The Birch Class is very excited to be taking part in the Roots of Empathy programme. Roots of Empathy is a specially designed curriculum which develops children's social and emotional development, cultivates empathy and teaches them about growing and changing through the observation of a visiting baby. The baby that will be visiting us once or twice a month is called Emily and we are really excited about meeting her! For more information about the Roots of Empathy programme go to the Parents Corner of this blog or click here. We have been reading The Twits by Roald Dahl in class. Today in art we created Mr Twit's disgusting beard from a range of different materials - we included lots of food just like Mr Twit! Emer from the Road Safety Authority visited us today during Road Safety Week. We discussed road safety - everything from wearing seat-belts to using zebra-crossings and much more. We then performed the 123 Safe Cross Code dance. It was lots of fun learning about how to be a safe road user. We are learning about homes and houses this month. We have learned the names of different types of houses. The self-titled 'yellow team' did a great job of matching pictures to the names of houses - well done boys! Check out this wonderful photo montage of the recent elections in P.E.T.N.S for class reps for Student Council; Green Schools; and School Garden/Forest School. Well done to everyone who participated! |
